Fermata is proud to work with community partners and fellow service providers, to ensure that everyone in our community is able to access the benefits of music therapy and music lessons.
Fermata’s team of music therapists works on site in many community settings, such as long term care facilities, schools, hospitals, day centres and private homes. We aim to work in a multi-disciplinary approach, sharing ideas with fellow professionals, supporting families and providing a positive and enriching experience for all our clients.
Fermata is currently working with individuals in Long Term Care with a diversity of diagnoses such as Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Post-Stroke, Acquired Brain Injury, Depression and Multiple Sclerosis.
Fermata currently offers on site music therapy with community partners across the City of Hamilton, the Niagara Region and the GTA, including:
St. Peter’s Long Term Care, Village of Wentworth Heights, Victoria Gardens Long Term Care, Extendicare St. Catharine’s, Ontario Works Addiction Services Initiative (ASI) “Beginning Today Program”, The Salvation Army Lawson Ministries, Choices Association: Supporting People with Developmental Disabilities, Region of Peel Long Term Care, McMaster Children’s Hospital and St. Peter’s Hospital (Hamilton Health Sciences).
Fermata has also facilitated special projects, specially funded for services users to engage in music therapy at no cost, with Hamilton-based community partners, including:
